NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

The Joint Accreditation System for Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) is an international accreditation body.  It has come to JAS-ANZ’s attention that APPLE GADGETS SA has been issuing so called ‘Certificates of Registration’ containing the JAS-ANZ logo thereby claiming association with JAS-ANZ and that it has certification against the standard referenced in the certificate.  APPLE GADGETS SA appears to operate out of South Africa using WhatsApp.

This notice by JAS-ANZ is to inform the public of the following:

  • APPLE GADGETS SA has no association with JAS-ANZ (or the accredited body MS Certification Services Pvt Ltd which appears to be referenced in the certificate as the issuer of the certificate) and is not certified against the referenced standard as this standard does not exist;
  • APPLE GADGETS SA has no right to use the JAS-ANZ name, brand, goodwill or reputation in any manner whatsoever; and
  • APPLE GADGETS SA has been directed to cease and desist from illegally using JAS-ANZ’s registered trademark.

The Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) is an independent, third-party accreditation body that provides internationally recognised accreditation services. JAS-ANZ was established in 1991 through an agreement (JAS-ANZ Treaty) between the Australian and New Zealand Governments to facilitate the exchange of goods and services and strengthen the trading relationship between the two countries.

Accreditation is more than just a symbol of assurance - it's a process for monitoring the impartiality and performance of the conformance assessment bodies (CABs). This valuable contribution is recognised through the licensing of accredited CABs to use the JAS-ANZ accreditation symbol as a mark of quality and reliability.
