New Zealand GAP GLOBALG.A.P Equivalent Scheme (NZGAP GGE)
New Zealand GAP GLOBALG.A.P Equivalent Scheme (NZGAP GGE)
The New Zealand GAP GLOBALG.A.P. Equivalent Scheme (NZGAP GGE) Scheme is endorsed by JAS-ANZ as a scheme suitable for JAS-ANZ accredited certification that meets international standards and is specific to New Zealand production practices.
The scheme has been benchmarked and formally recognised by GlobalG.A.P. as fully equivalent to the GlobalG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) Scheme. The fundamental difference between the schemes being NZGAP GGE is specific to New Zealand production practices, describing production systems, farm ownership structures, technical terms, and practices in a New Zealand context.
Applicant bodies will need to comply with relevant requirements in the NZGAP GGE Scheme Rules, and sign an agreement with Horticulture New Zealand Inc. Bodies must be accredited to GLOBALG.A.P. IFA and be a GLOBALG.A.P IFA accredited body with scopes and sub-scopes for Fruit and Vegetables for Options 1 & 2.
As this is a product certification scheme, applicants also need to comply with ISO/IEC 17065:2012 – Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services.
Benefits
- The scheme requires a general approach to farming that builds on internationally recognised GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standards and is adapted to New Zealand requirements.
- Enables growers to meet Supply Customers worldwide that require GLOBALG.A.P. IFA certification
- Certified growers hold a GLOBALG.A.P. IFA certificate and number (GGN)
Note: The NZGAP GGE should not be confused with the New Zealand GAP Scheme which has not been endorsed by JAS-ANZ as a scheme suitable for accredited certification, and has not been benchmarked or recognised as equivalent to the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Scheme.
