Health Care Services Management Systems Scheme Part 2—National Safety and Quality Health Service Scheme

Health Care Services Management Systems Scheme Part 2—National Safety and Quality Health Service Scheme

JAS-ANZ introduced the preceding health care management systems scheme as JAS-ANZ Procedure 31.  This procedure enabled health care organisations to demonstrate conformance with the Core Standards for Safety and Quality in Healthcare as a means of demonstrating appropriate levels of safety and quality in the services they provide to patients.

Procedure 31 was reviewed by a JAS-ANZ Health Care Technical Committee and republished as the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Scheme.  This scheme is the second part of a family of schemes that share common requirements as detailed in Part 1.  The requirements of this scheme are detailed in:

  • Heath Care Management Systems (HCSMS) Scheme Part 1 – Common requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of health care service management systems; and
  • National Safety and Quality in Health Service (NSQHS) Scheme Part 2 – Additional requirements for bodies providing audit and certification/accreditation to the National Safety and Quality in Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
