Curtin University Achieves ISMS Certification

Curtin University becomes the second university in Australia to achieve certification to the Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

Information security and protecting sensitive information is an area of increasing global focus and concern for all organisations. As such, Curtin University has had their health research data networks certified to protect its sensitive health data. JAS-ANZ recognises Curtin University as an innovator in this important area.

The ISMS scheme is experiencing consistent growth due to the increasing need of organisations to address information security from a broad perspective via compliance to this standard. JAS-ANZ recognizes the important societal role of universities and academic institutions and appreciates their leadership in this important area.
