CodeMark

CodeMark

The scheme was developed by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB), in consultation with the New Zealand Department of Building and Housing (DBH), Australian State and Territory governments, industry groups and CABs which certify building products and systems.

The scheme supports the use of new and innovative building products by providing a nationally and internationally accepted process for products to be assessed for compliance with the requirements of the building code of New Zealand. The scheme provides confidence and certainty to regulatory authorities and the market through the issue of a Certificate of Conformity.

Applicant CABs will need to comply with relevant requirements in The CodeMark Scheme Rules New Zealand.

As this is a product scheme, applicants also need to comply with ISO/IEC 17065:2012 – Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services.

Benefits

BCAs must accept the use of CodeMarked products when consenting building work, so long as they are used in accordance with the certificate.
