ANZEx Scheme, Part 2: Recognised Facilities Scheme

The product certification standard AS/NZS 3800:2020 was published on 8 May 2020, superseding AS/NZS 3800:2012. In discussion with the JAS-ANZ ANZEx Advisory Committee, a two year transition policy was agreed. The following Transition Policy applies to bodies that recognise service facilities and service facilities as well.

Transition summary

 

The product certification standard AS/NZS 3800:2020 was published on 08 May 2020, superseding AS/NZS 3800:2012. The revision does not introduce new technical requirements. ANZEx accredited bodies should review the new standard to familiarise themselves with the nature and scope of changes.

The ANZEx accredited body's accreditation schedule will be amended to include the product standard AS/NZS 3800:2020 (by self-declaration) on formal acceptance of a duly authorised transition declaration.

Following formal acceptance of transition declarations, ANZEx Accredited bodies are required to:

Assess new workshop applications against AS/NZS 3800:2020

Assess existing certified workshops via document review to the new standard. The scope of the certified workshop can be extended based on a successful document review. Implementation is to be assessed (on-site or remotely) over the remainder of the 2 years, being 8 May 2022.

Next scheduled office assessment

Verification of implementation and validity of self-declaration to be completed as part of normal assessment process for ANZEx accredited bodies transitioned through self-declaration

AS/NZS 3800:2012 certificates remaining on the JAS-ANZ register after 09 May 2022 will be removed without further consultation.

Note 1:

a) Assessment activity, including any additional assessments, undertaken for the purpose of this transition shall be invoiced to the CAB at the scope extension rate;

 

b) It is anticipated that no additional assessment time will be required to assess this transition.
