Disability Services in Victoria Scheme

The Department of Human Services, Victoria (DHS) Disability Services division (DSV) provides and funds a range of services for people with intellectual, physical, sensory and neurological disabilities.  This division works in partnership with families and carers and with non-government and government service providers to advance the wellbeing and quality of life of people with disabilities.

In mid 2009 the department commenced a demonstration (or pilot) project that required disability service providers to undergo independent monitoring to confirm the quality of disability services provided to people with a disability and drive continuous improvement. The demonstration project was successfully completed in 2009.

The department has published an informative document titled Independent monitoring processes for certification bodies that contains supplementary information for certification bodies.

Disability Service Providers can apply to any of the following certification bodies that have applied for JAS-ANZ accreditation for the DSV scheme:
